Talkin' on the phone

A Why you do that?
A balloon pops.
The Memmy balloon pop.
I know, I know.
You can't pop everything.
Don't touch Memory...and you can't touch.

Eventide's Birthday

Opening the presents from Nana and Papa

She had this balloon stuck on her back for like 10 minutes and had no idea.
"Talkin' on the phone!" and waiting for her friends to come over!

Eventide and her cousins Hannah and Eli at Manito Park
Eventide is THREE!! Earlier in the week before her birthday, we went to Manito Park with family and had a picnic and we we turned it in to a joint birthday for all the May birthdays (there were 4). We wanted to do something a little more personal though for Eventide, because it's the first time that she really gets the whole birthday thing. So we invited two of her friends and their families (her friends Jaliska and Oni) over for cake and ice cream on Saturday, her actualy birthday.
On Thursday before her birthday, we received Eventide's b-day present (which she took to calling the "secret surprise") from my parents in the mail. I told Eventide that we are going to open it on her birthday on Saturday. I had also told her that she was going to get a special birthday cake,  so all day she kept yelling things out to Memory, "Happy birthday, Saturday, Memory!" or "Secret surprise, Birthday cake!," or "Memory, Happy birthday secret surprise cake!" It was dang cute.
Anyway, so on her actual birthday we had blueberry pancakes that Eventide helped me to make. We went to the store together to pick up her Winnie the Pooh cake, which she was really pleased with. When her friends came over, they made necklaces and decorated hats and then we went to town on the cake and ice cream. And then she opened presents.  She had fun and it was a reaaaallly good day. After her friends left, she went to the store with Mitchell to pick out flowers for the garden and the house and then we watched Winnie the Pooh, which she got  for her birthday.

Eventide things:
-She's not potty trained yet, but she is finally starting to show a little interest! We are taking out time and I have no interest in rushing things.
-She hates it when I try to do anything for her hair like brushing it or styling it. It's all I can do to brush it at least once a day.
-She hates wearing socks and usually the only shoes I can get her to wear are these flowered sandals that are one size too small, ha
-She can talk SO good and she says that cutest/funniest things!
-She still loves singing and catches on to songs sooo quick. She usually only needs to hear them once or twice to get the tune and if she doesn't know the words, she just makes them up.
-She's a little parrot.
-She's getting pretty good at articulating her emotions...usually the sad ones. Like when she's upset she'll say to me "I'm not happy anymore, Mom," or, "I'm so so sad! "
-She wants to eat granola cereal all. day. long. But recently she's started to get a tiny bit better at eating a bigger variety of food which makes me SO HAPPY! She's been such a picky eater. Things that I've rrecently found that she likes and will eat  are Pasta w/ alfredo sauce (she calls it "noodles"), rhubarb muffins, carrots,  and blueberry pancakes.
-She still likes Thomas and friends and playing with trains, though maybe not as much as she used to.
-She also really likes Winnie the Pooh.
-She's got an attitude! and is easily upset. She has a great dislike for not getting her way, and makes sure we know it!
-She is SO smart and every day I am astonished by what she knows and does.

Memory's Birthday

It felt like labor was never going to end...and then 5 minutes later, Memory is ONE! Time flies when you're having fun, right? Memory had a really really good day. Her birthday was on April 1st. Since it was General Conference, we relaxed around the house and family came over for a little birthday party in the evening.

Her first time eating Ramen...not the healthiest thing, but a big hit!

Not sure how to feel about it...

Warming up to the idea...

Om nom nom!

Playing with cousins

Looong and exciting day...time for bed!!!

Memory facts:
-She's walking!
-She loves to dance (she;s dancing right now)
-She loves bath time with her sister
-Always on to the next thing. She's so busy!
-Still wakes up 3 or 4 times a night to eat.
-She LOVES eating real food.
-Lately she's been doing these goofy little headstands...I'll have to get a picture.
-She can throw a pretty good fit.
-She's so smiley and happy!
-She can't stand not to be included.
-She is a CLIMBER!!!
-If it can fit in her mouth...it will probably go there.
-She likes to play with whatever Eventide's playing with.
-Still takes about 2 naps a day.
-Has 4 teeth (two on top, two on bottom)
-Loves cookies and icecream...who doesn't??
-She loves the vacuum. It's a sure way to cheer her up when she's in a crabby mood or distracts her when she's getting in to trouble! It's also a good incentive to vacuum the carpet more often...
-She LOVES her big sister, Eventide.
-One of the most beautiful girls I have ever had the pleasure of knowing (the other being her sister...)

Memory is so delightful, wonderful, feisty, adventurous, busy, fun, and all around a blessing! We are so blessed to have this sweet little girl in our forever family!

Valentine's Day

We aren't big Valentine's Day people and don't usually celebrate it, so we didn't do much for the holiday. I thought it would be fun though to make a dessert with Eventide, which she is always up for. She LOVES cake/cookies/candy/chocolate/etc. She had a lot of fun decorating our cake and picking out all the colors and sprinkles. As you can tell, she's already "sampled" it a little.

Mobius

We went to Mobius a few weeks ago. I had preconceived ideas on what it was going to be like so I wasn't that impressed...I thought it was going to be like Lied's Discovery Museum which is a huge 2-story building. In any case, it was still pretty cool and the girls had a really good time. Memory and I pretty much hung out in the baby/toddler area most of the time and Mitchell took Eventide around to play with the other stuff. Again, I took all the pictures, so it looks like I wasn't there, but I assure you I was! Afterwards we "splurged" on Panda Express for lunch than went to the Spokane feed and pet store to look at the animals then went to Mitchell's parents so Eventide could play with her cousins. It was a fuuuun day!

Babysitting

I used to babysit a 4 year old boy, Oliver, on occasion when his regular babysitter was unable to. Well Winter quarter just ended and his regular babysitter will no longer be able to watch him anymore, so I'll be taking over, at least for this next quarter. We'll see how it goes. I don't watch him all day. I babysit him every day anywhere between 30 minutes to 5 or 6 hours, depending on the day. In any case, him and Eventide get along GREAT, so it's been really good for Eventide.

We were also babysitting two children Oni & Enri that were that same ages as my girls. We watched them every Monday and Wednesday night(when we weren't sick!). Eventide LOVED playing with Oni. She would get so excited when they came over. It's been so good for Eventide to have all this social interaction. She is growing and learning by leaps and bounds!
