Seattle

Mitchell had to go to Seattle to present at a Psychology conference, so we went along with them, since I had never been there before. We drove a rental (a 2013 Dodge Caravan, if I remember correctly) and it was dreamy! :) We got there Tuesday night and just settled in to the hotel.

On Wednesday, Mitchell rode on the tram with us to the Pacific Science Center, and then left us there to go to the conference. He met back up with us around 4, we picked up pizza for dinner then headed back to the hotel.
On the tram, or the train, as Eventide calls it.
At the 3D Imax theater at the Pacific Science Center. We saw a movie about Monarch butterflies.

Eventide wore her 3D glasses until there was a large close up view of a caterpillar which freaked her out and I couldn't convince her to put them back on for the rest of the movie.
Eventide loves chess, so this was especially exciting.

Playing on the space ship

Too loud!

There was a horse just outside the Westlake Center (where we get on/off the tram)

On Thursday, Mitchell left for the conference while the girls and I took the tram by ourselves to go to the Seattle Children's Museum. We went to Cheesecake Factory (right across from the hotel) for dinner, where both girls zonked out from our busy day.

The little grocery store-Eventide favorite part. She still talks about it.

On Friday, we had leftover cheesecake for breakfast (why not?) and the girls and I took a break and hung out in the hotel room all morning. Mitchell came back to the room, and we walked to Pikes Place Market to explore a bit. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner again (so so yummy!).
At Pike's Place
Friday was the last day of the conference, so on Saturday, we packed our stuff up, checked out, and drove to the Seattle Aquarium. One of the most important things I've learned about Seattle in regards to tourism: the best time to explore all the places is on a weekday. Saturdays are crazy busy. I ran up to Pike's Place by myself to pick out some flowers for Mitchell's mom and it was crazy packed. So was the aquarium when we visited. After the aquarium, we started on our drive home and got home that night. It was a VERY fun trip!!

Eventide organizing-pretty normal

Memory excited about the little snuggling otters

Eventide doesn't look happy...but she was

The girls all tuckered out from the long week with their new souvenirs!
