2 Qt. Crock Pot

So this is a pretty random blog post. On Black Friday, Mitchell and I didn't need to get anything but we wanted to go shopping a little anyway, so we went to Walmart and they had some awesome deals! One of those awesome deals was a 2 qt. crock pot for three dollars!! We have a 4 (or 5?) qt one and I never use it because it is so big and I'm just cooking for Me, Mitchell, and Eventide. But this 2 qt one is awesome! I'm using it for the first time today and I'm making homemade chile, a simple recipe I got out from this great slow cooker recipe book (in the picture below). It smells yummy...I hope it turns out okay. Anyway, it's weird the things you get excited about when you grow up...haha.

Snow!

It had a snowed a few times over the past couple of weeks. The first two times melted pretty quickly but then it snowed about two inches a couple of nights ago and has been pretty steady since! We actually had a blizzard warning last night. The temperature is 15 degrees. It was 10-12 earlier, but the sun finally came out a bit! I love the snow as long as I'm inside and not driving in it...

Eventide likes the snow too. She doesn't much care to play in or with it the snow but she likes to walk on it.

We don;t have any rain gutters, so when it snowed the first couple of times, as it was melting, we heard big "plops" outside on our back porch as the snow melted and slid off the roof. The picture below is some snow that I think began falling off the roof, but froze...not sure, but cool anyway:

Ready to brave the weather:

5 Months

So I'm about 5 months pregnant and well into my second trimester, which is a wonderful, wonderful thing! Good bye morning sickness, hello heart burn! I will admit that I much prefer the occasional heartburn over the nausea and so far the heartburn has not gotten too bad. Memory is super active. She moves a lot and I LOVE to feel her move. Mitchell is able to feel it now as well, though he's not as fascinated by it as I am, haha.

Little Treasures

I often find the most random things in the weirdest places. I wonder why...

A game buzzer in the oven drawer:

Christmas cards under the mat at the front door:

Bracelets, a toy, and candy wrappers in a kitchen cabinet:

The truth came out when I caught the culprit trying to put our salt and pepper shakers in the cupboard under the sink. :)

Playing in the backyard & collecting apples

Eventide LOVES playing outside and we have a great backyard to do so.

Cuteness overload

Please excuse the grossness of the shower in our old house...no amount of scrubbing could get rid of it:

Nice, good update...

Well hello there! It's been quite a while since I last updated, and I figured now was a good time to do it...So I'm going to run briefly over all the new things in our life! Most of these pictures are on Mitchell's facebook, so I'm not gonna go picture crazy with this one.

We moved in September in to a nice HOUSE! :D We pay $150 more a month, but the house is sooo nice! It' still only two bedroom, but the kitchen is gigantic and there are two living rooms and it was just renovated right before we moved in. So while the house is somewhere around 120 years old, it looks like a 10 year old house. Also, there's an apple tree in the backyard and a very large grassy backyard! While the apple season is coming to a close, we have made lots of apple pies and it's been a lot of fun! And a nice little bonus:the landlords are great!:)

-Mitchell got a new job! He works at the Academic Support Center at the college as program coordinator. He loves his job and is really enjoying his time there. My school schedule and his work schedule has worked out really well so that we don't have to take Eventide to day care or a babysitter.

-We sold/gave away all of our puppies! We were able to sell 3 of them and we were planning on keeping one of them (Max) because he is so smart and dang cute. But when we moved in to the house, our lease said we could only have one dog. Also, Mitchell didn't have the time to train him and I didn't have the patience. A friend of Mitchell's offered to take him and he's went to a good home! Yay!

-School and Eventide are keeping me pretty busy! I am only taking 3 classes, but they are pretty work-intensive. Two of my classes are sociology classes. I'm not enjoying them as much though I am learning A LOT! My favorite class is and education class, Early Learning Concepts. I am having a blast in that class and I actually love the homework! Must be a sign that I'm heading in the right direction with my career and schooling! the best news of all is that this is my LAST QUARTER! WOOHOO!!!

-Halloween has come and gone...Eventide was a little pumpkin (a REALLY cute little pumpkin!) I was the game Twister, and Mitchell was a DisneyWorld tourist...:D
Trying on the costume:

Harvest Tours/Trick-or-Treat at EWU:

Trunk or Treat with Jessica's (Mitchell's sister) family (though it was actually trick-or-treating in the church hallways instead of at the cars):

Eventide carried that bucket the WHOLE time. Cutest little pumpkin ever!

For your viewing pleasure, here's some cute and fun pictures of Eventide and what she's been up to these days:

She loves putting blankets on her head...

One of her favorite toys. She rides it all around the house and hides little "treasures" in the seat compartment:

Last but not least, I am a little over 4 months pregnant (19 weeks)and I've been feeling the baby kick since about 15 weeks. I'm not sick anymore though I still feel pretty icky when I'm really hungry...so I do my best not to get to that point. :) I can feel the baby move more and more every day, and I LOVE it! We had our first ultrasound today...and we are having a GIRL!!! A very active girl at that! Her name is going to be Memory Cameron. Memory after this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EeCMLRvIGQ&ob=av2n and Cameron is form Mitchell's middle name. :D With Eventide's ultrasound, we had difficulties getting her to move, with Memory's, she would not stop moving! The first thing I saw in the ultrasound was her heart (the ultrasound tech said she has a beautiful heart!) and then her little arms and hands waving around. Most of the ultrasound pictures are a little blurry because Memory would barely settle long enough for the ultrasound tech to take them. It was so stinkin' cute and it probably didn't help with my giggling. I sure love this little girl!

Face shot:

Her little feet-The big white blob/spot next to what is obviously her foot is actually her other foot. She was rubbing her little feet together. CUTE!:

This is Memory's profile shot, but she was too busy movin' and groovin' to stay still for it. :D:

Belly picture coming soon!
