Prego update

A lot has happened  since my last post! We went to Las Vegas for two weeks to visit my family and to be there for my sister Jessica's wedding. We spent Thanksgiving with Mitchell's family, Mitchell, Eventide, and Memory (but mostly Eventide) got pretty sick (we were pretty sure it was food poisoning). Mitchell was only sick for a day, Memory for about 3 days, but was chipper and happy and energetic regardless, and Eventide was miserable for three days. Especially the day that she got it. We are all finally feeling back to normal again (except for me...I still feel pregnant :] ). I'm planning to do a post separate from this one with pictures and stuff from our trip, so more on that later.

I'm 20 weeks pregnant now (half way there!!!). I feel the baby moving around a lot more now and every day I feel more. I'm looking forward to when Eventide will be able to feel or see the baby movements. She's excited about the baby!
I had an ultrasound today. I'm always amazed at how much better the ultrasounds are with each baby. I kept saying "wow!" and "that's amazing!" I could see so much detail in the ultrasound that I never saw with my girls. I'm always unimpressed with other peoples' ultrasounds, but always fascinated with my own. Anyway, here are the pictures!

Cute little profile

Cute little foot with 5 cute little toes
We are most definitely having a BOY!

I was so surprised when the ultrasound tech showed me that picture that I laughed. I was so sure we were having another girl. I should have known it would be a boy...I thought both Eventide and Mems were going to be a boy and I was wrong then too. I should just always go with the opposite of that "instinct." Anyway, we were just happy to be having another baby and had no preference, so we are excited! Time to start working up a new wardrobe for little Timothy Darwin Colver. :)

Life

I've decided to forego that pregnancy survey thing I was doing. I felt like I was constantly repeating myself. So, I'll give a brief prego update with new things and than update on new family things as well.

-I am about 14 weeks pregnant now and finally out of my first trimester AND NO LONGER SICK!!! YAHOOOOOO! Food aversions are pretty much gone. So that's all nice and good!
I felt the first baby "flutter" today. :)

Mitchell's brother Roy got married last Saturday. 9 of the 10 Colver siblings were able to make it in addition to lots of cousins. The temple sealing was beautiful and the reception was awesome and lots of fun. We're super excited to welcome Roy's wife Gina and her daughter Lilly to our family!!!
Mitchell's family at the wedding

Roy and Gina exiting the temple

We had lots of cousin playing time.  Eventide was was very excited that Hannah was visiting from Utah and talked about it for several days leading up to the wedding.

-Eventide and Memory are GROWING UP! They are beginning to play better together.

Eventide is still not potty trained and I don't plan on working on that until after we return from Las Vegas. She understands the idea...but is extremely uninterested in it.

Memory is very feisty and determined. I've never known a little kid to throw a fit as long as she has when she doesn't get what she wants, but she can keep one going pretty long. Once she sets her mind to something, she is determined to see it through and do what it takes to get it.

Memory is talking more and more. Mitchell, Eventide, and I are usually the only ones that understand her. Her more common words are "yeah" and "no." We got Eventide a new (and awesome!) bed (a loft bed with and attached slide) and moved Memory to a toddler bed. She had learned a how to get our of her crib and could do so with ease, so we figured it was time.

Eventide has a newfound fascination with Puff the Magic Dragon after discovering it on youtube.

It's getting cold outside now, so I've been dressing the girls in pants and jackets when we go out. Eventide really dislikes socks, pants, longsleeve shirts, and jackets. So the first thing she does when we get home, is she strips off her clothes and gets her "real" clothes on (shorts, shortsleeve shirts) .

Eventide understands there's a baby in my tummy and loves to look at pregnancy/baby books. She has consistantly told us that if the baby is a girl, that her name will be Genevieve/Jenny. We'll see. :) Memory also has a fascination with babies, but when the baby comes, I think she'll be very jealous or upset that I'll be spending more time with the baby and less time with Mems. Memory is definitely a mama's girl.

Memory recently disovered piggy back rides. Since then, she likes it when we tuck her baby dolls arms in to the back of her shirt so that she can give her baby a piggy back ride, and she runs around the house like that. So cute!

-Mitchell turned 27 on Saturday. We had a little birthday party for him that night. We invited family and had pie and ice cream.

-I performed a musical number in church on Sunday with two other women, Sister Anderson (flute) and Sister Filmore (piano). I played the violin. We played a very beautiful arrangement of How Great Thou Art. I very grudgingly accepted the request to do a musical number when I was asked, but as the time to perform came closer, as I got the song down, as we rehearsed, I actually got excited. I felt very peaceful while playing in front of the congregation, thanks to my Heavenly Father, and we did very well. Afterwards, I was very grateful that I had the opportunity to play with the other sisters and to share that with our ward. Great experience!!

-The girls and I are leaving on Saturday to Las Vegas!!!! My sister's wedding is in a little less than 3 weeks, so we are heading down there to spend time with family and to go to Jessica's wedding (Mitchell will be arriving a week after me and the girls). We are SO SO excited!!!!!!!

Until next time!

Pregnancy Update

How far along: 11 weeks, 2 days
Maternity Clothes: Yessir
Stretch marks: nope
Sleep: same as always
Best moment this week: Someone (very bravely) asked if I was pregnant! I very happily told her yes!
What I miss: As always and more than anything, I miss feeling normal/not sick. Hopefully it won't be too much longer until this icky part is over.
Movements: nope
Symptoms: Still nausea, food aversions, and the occasional heartburn. Growing belly and I get tired easily.
Food cravings: Cafe Rio chicken salad as always, chicken rolls, and this morning I was craving  cocoa pebbles.
Anything making me queasy or sick: Nothing new...same old stuff. Though we had a gift card for Olive Garden so we went out to dinner and I was able to happily eat spaghetti and meatballs (SO YUMMY) even though the smell of lasagna the day before made me feel really queasy. Maybe it's sign the "morning sickness" is on the decline!
Have you started to show yet: Yes! My belly kind of popped out a little in the last week.
Gender prediction: A lot of people have told me that they think it's a boy. I still don't have any idea or preference.
Emotions: Frustrated with the nausea. Kind of excited that I'm starting to show earlier. It helps to have figured out a few tricks this time around so that I don't throw up AS much this time around so I haven't lost much if any weight.
Looking forward to: Meeting my new doctor. For several reasons, seeing the midwives as I had planned is not going to work out, so I'm trying out a new doctor. I'm hoping it turns our good...

To be honest, most of that belly is fat pushed up by the baby who is still pretty low, but I can no longer hide  it, so I may as well embrace it.

Pregnancy update

How far along: 9 weeks 4 days (My new due date is April 19th)
Maternity Clothes: I wear some maternity pants
Stretch marks: nope
Sleep: same as always
Best moment this week: Nothing pregnancy related-went to my future sister-in-laws bridal shower
What I miss: queasy-free days
Movements: nope
Symptoms: Still nausea, food aversions, and the occasional heart burn.Still getting fatter (though just my belly! My hips have actually slimmed down! woohoo!)
Food Cravings: Caramel, chocolate (Caramello candy bars anyone?), and cafe rio chicken salad.
Anything making me queasy or sick: Everything I've already mentioned plus garlic and onions
Have you started to show yet: not enough to look pregnant!
Gender prediction: I don't know...A few days ago Eventide said to Mitchell, "Hey Daddy, I have a baby brudder in Mommy's tummy." So maybe it's a boy!
Emotions: I'm feeling pretty good as of this moment.
Looking forward to: bedtime!

Pregnancy update

How far along: 7 weeks 6 days (My last ultrasound pushed my due date back 4 days to April 20th! woohoo!)
Maternity Clothes: sometimes...for the record, I don't need to wear maternity (though I am getting a little fatter) but maternity pants are sooo comfortable. And with how sick I am, I can use all the comfort I can get!
Stretch marks: nope
Sleep: same as always
Best moment this week: I found a dress for my sisters wedding that looks good on me now AND will accommodate a 4 months pregnant belly! Also, I stuffed my face at a bbq on Saturday and went like 4 hours with out feeling sick. Awesome!
What I miss: eating
Movements: nope
Symptoms: Still nausea, food aversions, and the occasional heart burn. I'm also getting fatter as mentioned above. Just enough for me to notice, I think....I hope. My stomach is more sensitive this week. I use to be able to eat like 2 or 3 peaches in one sitting and feel fantastic after, and now I can't keep them down...my stomach can't handle them. So fruit is out. My sense of smell has strengthened as well as my food aversions.
Food Cravings: Mitchell figured out why my cravings were so wacky last week- I was craving all salty things, so I went to the store and bought (mostly) unhealthy really salty foods. I think my number one craving now is fries or baked potato slices (salted) with fry sauce. yuuummmmmy! Last but certainly not least: Cafe rio chicken salad. mmmmmmm.
Anything making me queasy or sick: added to last week are sweet corn on the cob, summer squash, malt o meal, peaches, and pears.
Have you started to show yet: not enough to look pregnant!
Gender prediction: I'm leaning more towards boy this week.
Emotions: frustrated with nausea and the rate that my stomach is rejecting foods. Excited because the baby's heart rate went up from last week to a healthy number and the baby was double the size than last week and Eventide got to be there to see the ultrasound, and she has been carrying the ultrasound picture around the house for several days, which is super cute.
Looking forward to: My midwife appointment on Tuesday, the end of the trimester,  our trip to Las Vegas for my sister's wedding in November, and bed time. :)

Pregnancy update

How far along: 6 weeks, 3 days
Maternity clothes: no, thank you very much.
Stretch marks: not counting the ones from my last pregnancy, right? Nothing new so far…hopefully it stays that way.
Sleep: Memory still wakes up 2-3 times a night which I'm used to. Otherwise, great!
Best moment this week:  An ultrasound at ichoice. Telling my family about the pregnancy and also inhaling a large order of Super Nachos from El Rodeo and feeling nauseous-free for 2 hours!
What I miss: I miss not being sick and not having a bajillion food aversions. Regardless, if things go as they did with the last pregnancies, this will be over at the end of the 1st trimester! Fingers crossed!
Movement: I have DREAMS about the baby moving, which are fun. Too early for real life baby movement though.
Symptoms: Nausea and food aversions. Slight heartburn a couple of times.
Food cravings: I’ve had super random cravings that only last a brief time. So far I’ve craved: Salty bacon (I know, weird), nachos from El Rodeo, Chili cheese hot dog (I think I would’ve even settled for one from 7-11, but I was thinking of the ones from Sonic), and Curly fries from Arby’s. The only craving fulfilled was the nachos. And then I have a whole list of cravings that are only in Las Vegas like Café Rio chicken salad (w/ house dressing), Panera Bread chicken salad sandwich, my dad’s roast and mashed potatoes with gravy, In-n-Out cheeseburger, and Lucille’s Smokehouse bbq. I think about food a lot.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Several repeats from the last pregnancies, like tomato/spaghetti sauce, eggs, the smell of my refrigerator. A new one is Top Ramen. I can’t even look at it without gagging.
Have you started to show yet: not yet. Hopefully I show sooner since this is my 3rd pregnancy. That would be cool.
Gender prediction: I think it might be another girl. My sister Ashley said she has a feeling it’s a boy. I’m happy with whatever gender. We’ll see!
Emotions: I’m really excited! I’m also at that point where it feels like I’m going to be sick forever and there’s no end in sight, but so far my “morning” sickness is not nearly as bad as it was with my girls, so that’s really nice!
Looking forward to: I have another ultrasound at ichoice on Tuesday, because the baby’s heart rate was a little low (which isn’t abnormal because it’s at about 6 weeks that the heart rate picks up speed, and I was just barely 6 weeks), so I’m looking forward to that. I’m also looking forward to my first appointment with my midwives in a week and a half.

Our Summer

Obviously I've gotten a little behind. So I'll catch you all up on our lives with a bunch of pictures.

Our summer started out with a bang...Eventide got a terrible case of Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease.  Memory got it too, but not nearly as bad.

The white stuff, btw, is calamine lotion we put on to ease the itch.

We look relatively happy though a bit tired. The first 2 or 3 days were terrible, and Eventide was finally coming away from the worst-enough to be silly.
About 4 or 5 weeks after the onset of the disease, Eventide and Memory's toenails and fingernails began to fall off-Eventide's more than Memory's, which apparently is another common symptom of Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease. Luckily, it was not painful. It is just recently, several months later, that the old nails are just about done coming off.

With all that terribleness aside, we still had a really great summer. Lots of time for silly shenanigans.

Learning how to do a somersault

Eventide giving it a try

success!
Mitchell just recently shaved off his beard. We took pictures of the different stages.

classy!
I don't have a final results picture, but be assured that Mitchell shaved off the Hitler mustache right after this picture and is now clean shaven... :)

Are they sister or what?!

We had lots of pool time at the Cheney kiddie pool (and the park too, though I don't have any pictures):

Despite her expression in this picture, Memory actually LOVED the pool.

YELLOWSTONE!!!

Yellowstone really deserves its own post, which will come along after this one....so stay tuned! I know how excited you are...

All of us (except Forest's family who arrived that evening) in front of Old Faithful

Babysitting
A good chunk of the summer, I babysat a little boy about a year older than Eventide. Eventide really likes him, so we had a lot of fun. I'd post pictures, but I'm not sure if his parents are okay with me posting pictures of their kid on my blog.

Trains, trains, and more trains

Playing with cousins:
Eventide and Laney

Memory just snatched a piece of bread from Nnamdi. Nnamdi clearly was not too pleased.

Eventide & Hannah. Hannah's family just moved to Utah and we MISS THEM!!!

  APPLES
About a bajillion apples fall off that tree every day

And so I make lots of these! yum!

One more thing...

Due April 24, 2013!
