A good investment

For Christmas of 2010, we got Eventide a baby doll stroller. It was $10 from Target. To this day, it has been one of the best and cheapest investments we have ever made in a toy. Eventide usually takes it along with her when we walk to the library, post office, Zips (for ice cream!), to pick up Oliver (a boy I babysit) from school, and etc. Every time we take it to Playgroup, it's a hot commodity. Eventide, and now Memory, pushes it all over the house, and Eventide frequently uses it to cart toys from one room to another. This toy has traveled miles and is showing it!

Birthday BBQ

My niece Nampohn's birthday was this last weekend, so we had a family bbq to celebrate. I LOVE getting to together with family! Great conversation, great food, and I LOVE seeing Eventide enjoy herself so thoroughly with her cousins. Memory loved sitting in the camp chairs and even sat in one for over 10 minutes...which really surprised me because she's always got these ideas and she's so busy. We invited our friend Rickea (I'm unsure how to spell her name) and she made and ate S'mores for the first time, which she really liked (who wouldn't?) After stuffing ourselves with dinner and S'more, we then had cake and ice cream! I ate so many s'mores that I passed up on the cake and ice cream...anyway. We had a good time. :)
Hannah, Gabe, Eventide, Kara, Nampohn- Do you see Hannah, Gabe, and Eventide holding hands??

Gramma and itty bitty super adorable little Jacob

Gabe, Eventide and Hannah, again. Hannah is 8 months older than Eventide, and Eventide is 2 months older than Gabe. They get along SO well and it's fun watching them play and run around together. s

Precious little Mems in a camp chair, just her size!!

Nnamdi and Mitch. Babies love that beard hair!

Memory's 1sy S'more...it was a big hit!

Memory's face was all sticky from her s'more and so the balloon kept sticking to her face. She'd pull it off, and then stick it on again, then pull it off, then stick it on...to test it out or something.

Gabe, Eventide, and Hannah, eying the birthday cake.

Nampohn blowing out the candles. Happy Birthday, Nampohn!

The perks...

One of the perks to having a daughter: Free manicures and pedicures!

Did I pick a winner, or what?

Fun in the Sun with Cousins!

We went to play with cousins in Spokane today. I brought along this water hopscotch that Eventide got from the Owanas (thanks Owanas!!!) for her birthday to try it out and to see if the Eventide's cousins wanted to play with it. Since it was warm enough we set it up in the backyard and played with it for over an hour. AWESOME toy! I'm excited to use it more this summer! There's a lot of pictures, but I love them all so much, I'm going to post all of them.

Little helpers

Memory took great interest in sweeping when she saw me sweeping the kitchen on afternoon. She kept trying to take it from me, so I finally just gave it to her and let her go to town...Then Eventide got in the mix and tried to take over. I'm crossing  my fingers that they will be this enthusiastic about cleaning when they are teenagers...

Drafts

I was going through my unfinished blog posts, that I had started but forgot about. I discovered this one:

"Eventide is officially 9 months old today! It's hard to believe how BIG she is getting and how fast she is learning! She can officially pull herself up with ease and she does so regularly. It's really cute to walk in to her room when she wakes up and see her standing up with her little head peeking up over the crib. Also, if we stand her up, she can balance on her own for 10 seconds or so. :)

In other news, Mitchell is teaching a class next quarter! It's Music Psychology and I wish I could take it! We are both very excited! We will keep you updated with how it goes."

Weird! And now she's three!  I wish I had taken the time to write more stuff like this. I've just began to realize it's more than recording when our children can do what or whatever, but it's cool to read and remember the emotions  that we were feeling at the time.

New Dress

I made a dress (from a pattern) by myself for the very first time! I had the pattern cut out for a couple of months but was kind of too scared to get started and so I kept putting it off. Finally I decided I just needed to get to it...so I did! There's a lot of mistakes, but I've definitely learned a lot! Unfortunately, I could only get Eventide to put it on for like 1 minute and since then she doesn't want anything to do with it. :( Oh well, maybe she warm up to it eventually, or maybe I'll just have to wait for Memory to get big enough to wear it!

Fun in the Sun

We had some really warm days in the last couple of weeks, so Mitch broke out the inflatable baby pool. It doesn't get sweeter than this! I love being their Mommy!
